The world falls dark to mark Earth Hour

Earth Hour, a global event organized by WWF that aims to encourage households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness toward the need to take action on climate change, turned out to be a great success this year. Millions turned off lights and appliances for an hour in a gesture to highlight environmental concerns, while some of the world’s best known landmarks too fell dark at 8:30 p.m. on the March 27.
